Pen Blank – Rock Maple
Rock Maple (Acer spp.), also known as Hard Maple, features a very light colour and tight grain that provides excellent contrast when paired with other woods. It is prized for its toughness and easy workability, making it ideal for detailed woodturning projects such as pens and small specialty items. Known for its smooth turning and ability to hold detail well, Rock Maple also offers a subtle but distinctive “maple syrup” aroma that woodworkers appreciate.
