Start planning before you need the timber at school. Leave room in your schedule for quoting, milling and getting it to your workshop.
Choose & measure
Pick your timber and list the pieces you need. Use your finished dimensions in the Quote Builder, and check the details with your teacher.
Submit & check your quote
Send your list through the Quote Builder. We’ll email your timber quote and estimated completion time. Check both against your budget and project schedule.
Pay & get ready to build
Pay online from your emailed quote, or call to pay by phone. After full payment, your order joins the milling queue. We’ll let you know when it’s ready to collect or send delivery tracking.
Get your quote in early
Our busiest times for student orders.
Most Year 12 orders arrive in December and February, all at once. When the queue fills, lead times stretch from about a week to four or five weeks. Most students have their timber by April, so order in the quiet months and yours is ready when you are.

01 / What are you making?
A desk, a cabinet or a jewellery box? Talk through your design, joints and timber choice with your teacher.
02 / What can you spend?
Set a timber budget before you fall in love with a species. Leave room for hardware, glue and finishes. The student price list shows prices excluding GST.
03 / How should it look?
Think about colour, grain and the finish you have in mind. Seeing boards in person can help you decide.
04 / How will it be used?
Consider everyday wear and how often you’ll move the finished piece. Weight and durability matter as well as appearance.
Before you get a quote
Turn your design
into a cutting list.
A cutting list is a list of the timber pieces in your project, with a size and quantity for each. Give every part a clear name so you can check it against your drawing.
Enter finished sizes in the Quote Builder. These are the dimensions each part should be when it’s made. If you’re unsure about sizing or allowances, check with your teacher before submitting.

A few things to know
Before you order.
Can I change my cutting list?
Yes. Submit a new quote through the Quote Builder with your revised details. If you’ve already paid, contact us before making changes.
Will every board look the same?
No two boards are identical. Colour changes, knots, gum veins and small splits can occur naturally. Tell us if a particular feature matters to your design, and discuss it before ordering.
What paperwork will I receive?
You’ll receive a final invoice and documentation when milling is complete. Keep these with your project records.
