A single wide board of curly maple, 1000mm long and 260mm across in one piece. The fiddleback ripple runs tight and even from end to end, with a scattering of small cat’s-paw and pin markings through the middle of the board.

Colour and grain

• Colour: pale cream to light honey, consistent across the face.
• Figure: tight fiddleback curl the full length, best seen at an angle to the light.
• Texture: fine and even — takes a finish well and lifts hard under oil.
