Jelutong Wood Blanks are one of the easiest timbers to work available.
This species is a go-to for woodcarving, pyrography, image impregnation and more.
Cuts like butter and is the beginner woodcarvers best friend.
The timber is the closest in appearance and density to Basswood. Which you will see on most U.S or U.K. sites and is indistinguishable when the two are put next to one another.
Due to its ridiculously easy workability it is perfect for newcomers to woodcarving. Yet is still a primarily used species in commercial woodcarving due to its ability to achieve high detail with minimal effort.
Many home woodworkers will use this species both for prototyping a job to be carved in a denser species or for the project itself.
Sizes and Colour:
May vary due to being a natural product, for larger quantities inquiry is key for availability.
When deciding on sizing required, it’s always better to allow larger specifications than you need, you can always remove more stock, you can’t add it back on later.
For projects larger than the available sizing, consider laminating multiple wood blanks to achieve your desired stock size.
