Its heartwood displays rich dark chocolate brown tones, contrasting beautifully with creamy white sapwood. Properties and Performance

American Walnut is a durable medium-density hardwood (around 609 kg/m³) with a Janka hardness of about 4.4 kN. It offers good bending and crushing strength with low stiffness. The wood dries slowly, helping to avoid warping. It resists heartwood decay and machines well, including planing, turning, and moulding. The wood glues and finishes smoothly, allowing craftsmen to showcase its rich colours and grain.
