Jarrah is a premium Australian hardwood that grows throughout Western Australia, widely regarded as one of the nation’s iconic species. Known for its striking red to pink hues, Jarrah is celebrated for its toughness, stability, and reliability in both decorative and structural applications.

In skip dressed form, both faces are lightly machined—not fully dressed, but smoothed enough to display some of the grain and colour, making selection easy for your project.

Colour and Appearance

• Heartwood: Deep rich reds to softer pink tones, often darkening with age for an even warmer look.

• Grain: Generally straight but can be slightly interlocked for added visual interest.

• Texture: Even and moderately coarse, producing a smooth finish when worked.

• Natural Contrast: Pairs beautifully with both pale timbers like Rock Maple and darker hardwoods for standout designs.

• Always select slightly larger stock than is required—you can trim excess, but you can’t add material back later.

• Oversized items can be achieved by laminating multiple blanks.
