Product Details
A miniature dovetail dozuki — 180mm blade, 25.4 TPI, sized for jewellery-box joinery and small instrument work.
Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. The blade stays in tension under load, which is what lets a 0.3mm kerf saw track straight through hardwood end grain without wandering or buckling.
The 297 is the small dozuki — 180mm of rigid-spined blade with very fine 25.4 TPI teeth. Built for the cuts where a 240mm dozuki feels oversized: small dovetails, fine box joinery, repair work, instrument-making. Spine limits depth of cut to the blade body, but it keeps every cut dead-straight — which is the whole point of a backed saw on visible work.

Razorsaw — Japan’s craft-saw standard
Razorsaw blades are impulse-hardened for long edge life. Teeth cannot be resharpened — they get replaced. The matching blade for this saw is RSS-297.
Pairs with: the matching replacement blade — swap it when the teeth dull and the handle keeps going. See the rest of our Japanese saws.
