Overview
Rustins Danish Oil is a blend of natural oils and resins that soaks into timber rather than sitting on top of it. The result is a finish that enhances the wood’s colour and grain from the inside out, then cures to a hard-wearing, satin surface that resists moisture, staining, and daily wear. It works on hardwoods, softwoods, and veneers, and it does not require specialist equipment or unusual preparation. Apply by brush or cloth, allow to cure, and the job is done.
What It Does
The penetrating formulation feeds the timber at the fibre level, bringing up colour and grain definition in a way surface coatings cannot replicate. Once cured, it forms a tough, water-resistant barrier that holds up to handling and spills. The low-lustre result feels natural to the touch, sitting between a raw finish and a high-gloss coat. It does not yellow over time, which makes it well-suited to light timbers and clear-finish work. Where maintenance is needed, re-application is straightforward: no stripping, no sanding back to bare timber.

Application Notes
Apply by brush, cloth, or pad to clean, bare timber. Wipe away excess after 20 to 30 minutes. Tack-free within 24 hours in standard conditions. Multiple coats build depth and protection. Between coats, a light scuff with fine steel wool or abrasive pad improves adhesion and refines the surface. For best results on highly absorbent timbers, thin the first coat slightly to aid penetration.
