Robert Sorby Easybeader 1/4in

The sorby easybeader was conceived by a production turner who needed to cut a run of identical beads fast, and it still does exactly that — a series of evenly spaced quarter-inch beads, each one the same size as the last. This is the last of our stock and it won’t be reordered.

Why Robert Sorby

Robert Sorby has been building turning tools in Sheffield since 1828, and the sorby easybeader is one of the more clever pieces in that range, designed by someone who actually stood at a lathe cutting beads all day. Robert Sorby still makes it to that same brief.

Specs

  • Handled tool with an ash handle
  • Cuts a series of evenly spaced beads

At the Lathe

Move it bead to bead along the spindle and it cuts each one to identical size and spacing without you having to measure or mark out first, which saves real time on repeat work like table legs or balusters. It’s a nice addition to a set of turning tools, and we often point students toward it in our woodturning courses when spindle beading comes up.

Limited Stock — While It Lasts
