Red Cedar Sawn Turning Blank – 150 × 150 × 600mm
A long, square billet of New Guinea Red Cedar (Cedrela toona), supplied rough sawn as it was cut. At 600mm it will make a lamp base, a spindle or a carving, or you can cut it down into several shorter blanks.
Colour and grain
- Colour: deep golden-red heartwood.
- Grain: straight to gently wavy, sometimes with soft figure.
- Texture: fine and even, so it finishes smooth.
Size
150 × 150 × 600mm, rough sawn. Sawn sizes are nominal. Colour and figure vary from piece to piece, and the photo shows the species, not this exact blank.
