Product Details

Camphor laurel has a way of stopping people mid-workshop. The grain swirls. The colour runs from pale straw to warm green in the same board — sometimes in the same cut. It smells faintly of camphor when you work it, which fades once finished.

These mini-slabs are dressed on both faces; ready for your sander. Width runs approximately 200–300mm (natural timber, so it varies slightly piece to piece) and they come in at a consistent 25mm thick. Two coats of Rustins Danish Oil or U-Beaut Food Safe Oil and an hour’s work and you’ve got something that looks better than from a boutique kitchen store.

Available in three lengths. The 600mm is the most popular for a standard entertaining board. The 800mm suits a larger platter or a small side table top. The 400mm is great for a quick weekend project or a kids’ first build.

  • Species: Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphorum)
  • Finish: Dressed both faces
  • Thickness: 25mm
  • Width: Approximately 200–300mm (natural variation)
  • Food-safe when finished with an appropriate oil

A Note on Our Wood Products

Please remember that the photos you see are indicative only. As a beautiful, natural material, wood inherently varies in grain, colour, and figure. While we meticulously select outstanding pieces to send your way, each item will possess its own unique charm. We believe these natural variations are part of what makes our wood products so special and truly one-of-a-kind.

Kiln dried and ready to work

All of our timber is kiln dried to Australian standards, so it arrives stable and ready to be worked.

Because timber is a natural product, not all stock is ready to send immediately. Occasionally we need to mill your timber to the size you’ve specified before dispatch.
