Razorsaw Fugaku Folding Kataba — a 240mm Japanese pull-saw that folds into its handle for safe transport and site work.
Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke, which keeps the thin blade in tension and lets it stay impossibly fine without buckling. The Fugaku is the folding version of the classic kataba (single-edged) — when you’re done sawing, the blade folds neatly into the handle for safe storage in a tool bag or apron pocket.

What it’s for
Cross-cutting dimensioned timber, joinery work, dovetails, dowels, trimming protruding wedges and pegs. The thin kerf (0.6mm) means less waste timber and faster cuts than a Western tenon saw. Fine 14 TPI tooth pitch gives a glass-smooth finish — perfect for visible joinery on furniture.
Razorsaw — Japan’s craft-saw standard
Razorsaw blades are impulse-hardened: the cutting edges are heat-treated separately from the body for a long-lasting sharp edge. When the blade finally wears, swap it out — most Razorsaw handles take replacement blades, so the handle becomes a long-term tool.
