Red Cedar Sawn Turning Blank – 300 × 300 × 50mm
A wide, flat blank of New Guinea Red Cedar (Cedrela toona), supplied rough sawn as it was cut. At 300mm square and 50mm thick there is room for a platter, a shallow bowl or a carving panel.
Colour and grain
- Colour: deep golden-red heartwood.
- Grain: straight to gently wavy, sometimes with soft figure.
- Texture: fine and even, so it finishes smooth.
Size
300 × 300 × 50mm, rough sawn. Sawn sizes are nominal. Colour and figure vary from piece to piece, and the photo shows the species, not this exact blank.
